UK Tariff Updates: Simplified Procedure Value, Quota Volumes for Central America, and Veterinary Controls – 02 February 2024

Update to Simplified Procedure Value (SPV): The SPV has been revised for the period between 1st and 14th February 2024, providing updated guidance for businesses and traders on simplified customs values.

Update to Quota Volumes for Central America: Adjustments have been made to the quota volumes for beef, rum, and sugar associated with the Central America geographic group, including all countries except Panama, as of 3rd February 2024. This update is significant for traders dealing with these commodities, offering new quotas for import and export activities.

Planned Update to Veterinary Controls: In compliance with DEFRA’s new requirements, changes will be made to remove the EU, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Iceland, and Norway from the list of territories eligible for geographic exclusions under measure type 410 – Veterinary control. This adjustment will affect the import and export of animal and possibly plant products, ensuring that veterinary controls are appropriately applied.
